Unless otherwise instructed by your physician, please comply with the following:
- Wear a comfortable two-piece outfit and athletic or rubber-soled shoes.
- Do not apply lotions, powders, or oils on the skin (chest and abdominal area) on the day of the test.
- Please allow a minimum of 3 hours to perform the test.
- Fasting is required; you may not eat or drink for 4 hours prior to your appointment.
- You may not drink any caffeine 24 hours prior to your exam. This includes coffee, soda, chocolate, and caffeinated products.
- You may not drink alcohol or use tobacco 24 hours prior to the test.
Do not take the following medications 24 hours prior to the test. However, please bring them with you.

If you have diabetes, take a half dose of long acting insulin. Do not take any premeal insulin. For further questions, please contact your endocrinologist.
Please read carefully and comply with all instructions to avoid cancellation or rescheduling of your tests.
A day prior to your Stress Test, our office will call you to confirm your appointment. If we are unable to reach you, your appointment will be cancelled, and a fee applied. Please make sure we have the correct phone number on file when scheduling for a Nuclear Stress Test.
A 48 hour notice is required for any cancellations. You will be charged a cancellation fee if the office is not informed within 48 hours.
If your insurance requires a referral, please obtain one from your primary care physician prior to your scheduled appointment. Some insurances will require preauthorization for the test. Our office will make all efforts to obtain the preauthorization prior to your test. If the preauthorization is denied by your insurance, your test will be rescheduled/canceled.
